How SyncUpPro Works?
         
 

Profile Manager:

A profile is comprised of settings that are required to execute the synchronization process using SyncUpPro. The profile includes settings from the tabs - Source and Update, and Filters. Each profile contains a unique name and saved as a file for future use. A file thus saved will have the extension ".wfs" and it is saved in the path where SyncUpPro application is installed.

Connect to a remote PC:

This option lets you to synchronize files/folders between two PCs by using any one of the following cables: Parallel cable, Direct Crossover cable, Network LAN or USB cable.

 
This option lets you to synchronize files/folders from your PC to FTP Server.

Source & Update

Select Folders to Sync: The drives, folders can be selected from the tree view structure. A selected drive/ folder and its root directory will be displayed in red color to highlight the folder path for synchronization.

Creation of groups: Creation of groups is mandatory for synchronization to take place after selection of folders. The Add Group feature creates groups which clearly display the exact location of information transfer from the folders on the Source location to Update location based on the selected direction of synchronization.

Sync Direction: Copy and Delete files filters are dependant of sync direction.

  • Source to Update: This type of synchronization synchronizes files/folders from the Source location to Update location.

  • Update to Source: This synchronization type synchronizes files/folders from the Update location to Source location.

  • Bidirectional: This allows bidirectional synchronization of files and folders. It synchronizes data from Source location to Update location and vice versa.

Filters

Under Filters tab, you have various options that can effectively synchronize files/folders. Filters tab allows copying and deleting files from the source location to update location. It lets you to specify inclusion of sub folders and empty folders for an automated synchronization process. It monitors the source files for changes or additions and updates the latest files automatically in the specified location.

Include and exclude files: In Source and Update tab, you may include/exclude files to synchronize the data. Additionally, this option allows you to add new file types other than those provided in SyncUpPro.

Preview Results

Preview results provide a preview of comparison results of files/folders in source and update locations. It presents a detailed view of the file including its name, path, size, date and time of modification.

 

Schedule

With SyncUpPro, you can schedule the synchronization process to run at a specific time that is most convenient for you. SyncUpPro lets you to run the task 'Once, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, System startup or Logon account'.

The scheduler runs in the background at specific date and time as specified in the profile to synchronize the data. You can set multiple schedules in a single/multiple profiles but you are allowed to schedule one profile at a time.

 

Log

The log file provides you information about the file that cannot be used for the synchronization process. This log file is dissimilar to the Scan Results, and are not considered for the synchronization process.

History

SyncUpPro maintains history of the synchronization process. It logs the information namely count of sync process executed and its start and end time.

To view history of the synchronization process, choose History menu item from the Options menu. Click the Close button to exit this screen.
