| |
What
do the terms files, settings, and applications
mean?
Generally speaking, StepUpPro defines "files" as data
files. These are the kinds of files that a typical
user edits, copies, saves, etc. Word processing documents,
spreadsheets, pictures, and MP3 music files are typical
examples. Although there are other kinds of files
on the computer, these other kinds of files are usually
associated with applications or with windows itself,
and StepUpPro treats these files separately from data
files.
A "setting" is a piece of information that alters
the ""look and feel"" or behavior of Windows, an
application, or a piece of hardware. Some settings
are built-in and hidden from the user, but often,
the user has control over these settings. Examples
of user-controllable settings are: how files are
displayed in My Computer, and what picture is used
for the Windows background wallpaper.
An "application" is a program, such as a word processor,
photo editor, or music player that performs a certain
function. Some applications come automatically installed
with Windows, while other applications need to be
purchased (or download for free) and installed at
your convenience. StepUpPro makes a distinction between
applications that come with the operating system
(for example, WordPad or Notepad) and ones that you
can purchase and install on your own (for example,
Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, or Win Amp). " |
| |

| |
Can
I migrate all the settings, data and applications
from PC to CD?
No. You cannot migrate all the settings, data and
applications from PC to CD. |
| |
What
happens if power fails during the migration?
(Depends on what stage the power failure occurs)

the destination PC for the data or applications that
have been migrated, and start a new migration process
for the rest of the settings, data or applications. |
