DeDupe locates and removes the duplicate files before they cause havoc to your system.

DeDupe, a duplicate file finder tool, assists users to find and remove duplicate files in your system. This tool aids the needs from a novice user to any IT savvy Professional. Increase the hard disk space by deleting or compressing the duplicate files into a zip file, moving the duplicate files to a folder. DeDupe will find and removes the duplicate files before they cause havoc to your system.

Find and Remove Duplicates Files Regardless of File name

Using MD5 and CRC32 Checksum Algorithm DeDupe finds and remove duplicate files if the Content of the comparing files matches. The file names need not be identical.

DeDupe also allows to find and remove duplicate files if the file names are same. It also enhances the duplicate check option by providing comparison of File name with Date, Size or Version of the files.

Identifies duplicate files irrespective of the file names and performs a Content match on the files. It also allows you to find duplicate even if the file names are same.

DeDupe allows user to schedule duplicate file check either on demand or to be executed at a specified date/time.

How does DeDupe detect duplicates?

DeDupe identifies the duplicates only when the file names are same. This is compared against other duplicate files with the next level of match. Searching of duplicate files are made by selecting any one of the following criteria :

Find Duplicates At Level Chosen: This option allows you to scan the duplicate files till the level chosen and highlights the level of the match in the result page if the selected criterion exactly matches with duplicate files.

Find Duplicates Upto the Level Chosen: This option displays duplicate if the primary and the duplicate file name are same and continues to scan the duplicates till the selected criteria level is matched and highlights the level of match in the result page.

File Name Match: Searches the files based on the file name (default search criteria).
Date Time Match: Matches the file name and modified date and time.
Size Match: Matches the file name, modified date and time and file size.
Version Match: Matches the file name, modified date & time, file size and version of the file. This is applicable for dll, exe and ocx files.
Content Match: Finds duplicate based on the file name and highlight the duplicates if the file name, date and time, version, size and content of the duplicate and primary file are matched.
