1. What is
FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol). FTP is the most common
way that Internet users retrieve files from other machines
(hosts) directly connected to the Internet. There are many
FTP servers that store large collections of information and
software, available for anonymous FTP (meaning that any user
is free to access the files without needing an account on
the particular server). FTP can only be done from machines
with a direct or dial-up TCP/IP connection to the Internet.
2. What is FTPSupremo?
FTPSupremo is a file transfer utility designed to automate
your FTP tasks. It is a fast, secure FTP client that works
as a stand-alone application.
3. What is a
Profile?
A profile consists of settings that are required to execute
the file transfer. A profile thus created will be saved in
the ‘.pfs’ file extension for future use.
4. What is a
Primary profile?
A Primary profile helps to execute the application from Windows
Explorer. A profile is considered primary, only when the option
‘Primary Profile’ is enabled.
5. Should I
create a profile to transfer files?
Creating a profile is essential to establish the connection
between your local system to a remote system and thereby to
execute the file transfer via Internet. A profile consists
of the Host name or the IP address of the server, User ID,
Password and Connection type.
6. Will I be
able to edit my profile settings?
The profile settings can be edited as and when needed. Once
the updates are saved, FTP Supremo handles the file transfer
process with respect to the changes made.
7. How do I
connect to an FTP site?
You have to create a profile to initiate the file transfer
process. Once the profile is created click the “Connect”
button to connect your local computer to an FTP site.
8. How do I
Upload files to an FTP site?
You may upload files to an FTP site once your computer is
connected to a remote system.
To upload the files to an FTP site, do the following:
1. Choose a profile by clicking the Open option from the File
menu.
2. Click the ‘Connect’ button that is placed on
the bottom of the product screen.
3. Once connection is established, choose the files and folders
on the left pane of the window and click the arrow button
to move your files and folders to the desired location.
4. Choose the ‘Upload’ option from the Action
menu to upload your data.
9. How do I
Download files from an FTP site?
You may download files from an FPT site once your computer
is connected to a remote system.
To download the files from an FTP site, do the following:
1. Choose a profile by clicking the Open option from the File
menu.
2. Click the ‘Connect’ button that is placed on
the bottom of the product screen.
3. Once the connection is established, choose the files and
folders on the right pane of the window and click the arrow
button to move your files and the folders to the desired location.
4. Choose the ‘Download’ option from the ‘Action’
menu to download your data.
10. How do
I create new folders?
You can create a new folder on the local system by choosing
‘MK Dir’ button on the left pane while ‘MK
Dir’ on the right pane creates a folder on the remote
system.

Can I delete or rename the files or folders of the local and
remote systems?
You can delete as well rename the files or folders of your
local and remote system.
12. Can I
connect to any Anonymous sites?
Yes, you can connect to any anonymous sites.
13. Will
I be able to resume broken links when my connection is broken?
Yes. FTPSupremo captures the broken links and resumes the
interrupted file transfer.
14. How do
I execute FTPSupremo?
FTPSupremo can be executed from Windows Explorer and Desktop
Shortcut.
